The doctoral programs offered at these schools range from ministry to educational leadership. Students can join an honorary organization like Alpha Chi and attend weekly chapel services to enrich their spiritual lives.
One of the goals of Harding University is to infuse faith, learning, and living into all aspects of student life. The university welcomed 1,357 graduate students in 2017, as per the NCES. Harding has doctoral degrees in four different fields: ministry, educational leadership (P-20), pharmacy, and physical therapy. Students in the top 10% of their class are eligible to join the Alpha Chi Honor Society, which is open to upper class men and graduate students. Students may nurture their spiritual lives through the weekday chapel sessions held by the university at 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM, which are also streamed live.
Trevecca Nazarene University
The NCES shows a 2017 graduate student enrollment of 1,401 for Trevecca Nazarene University. Although affiliated with the Church of the Nazarene, the university is open to any student who believes in the Bible, traditions, and reasoned thought. Students can pursue a doctoral degree in clinical counseling (teaching and supervision) and leadership and professional practice in education. Campus organizations present in the university include a social justice club and the National Student Leadership Society.
Evangel University offers several doctoral-level degrees such as those in the field of applied intercultural studies, ministry, and educational leadership, curriculum, and instruction. The university is dedicated to providing an environment that combines faith and learning. Evangel offers worship sessions three times throughout the week. The university also has an Alpha Chi chapter, as well as a cinema club and Apologia Fellowship, which is focused on equipping students to academically defend Christianity.
Dallas Baptist University
According to the NCES, Dallas Baptist University had 1,906 graduate students for the fall 2017 semester. Dallas Baptist has two doctoral degree programs. The leadership studies degree has specializations in business, higher education, ministry, and general leadership. The education degree offers concentrations in K-12 leadership, higher education leadership, educational ministry leadership, and general leadership. Faith-centric organization opportunities include the Baptist Student Ministries and Our Calling, which focuses on ministering to homeless people and assisting them to obtain necessary resources.
Azusa Pacific University
Azusa Pacific University offers eleven doctoral degrees, such as clinical psychology, ministry, educational leadership, and physical therapy. Azusa created a list of Daily Living Expectations, which includes a lifestyle dedicated to God's will in society and a firm, committed desire to be God's person. Azusa's graduate clubs include the Child Life Student Organization, which is for students pursuing the child life profession. The NCES shows 4,255 graduate students in fall 2017.
