Here we discuss a handful of the Christian colleges with fashion design programs more in-depth to help students decide which school to attend.

Lipscomb University

Tennessee's Lipscomb University had nearly 3,000 undergraduate students in 2017, per the NCES. The university offers Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Fashion Design programs that include an internship experience. Students in the program also participate in a senior seminar and have the option to participate in independent study and research if they would like. The program places an emphasis on textiles and how they are used, so students study topics in textile chemistry, construction and pattern design. The university helps students grow in their faith by offering various chapel services, including men's and women's chapels, as well as campus ministry activities, such as small group studies and the Joshua Project, a spiritual mentoring program.

Clark Atlanta University

Clark Atlanta University (CAU) in Georgia offers a BA in Fashion with a concentration in Fashion Design or Merchandising. Students in either concentration complete an internship experience and are eligible to participate in the university's International Studies Program and study fashion abroad in places like Milan, Italy, or London, England. In addition to chapel services, the university has a wide range of campus ministries and spiritual activities/organizations to help students grow in their faith, such as Bible studies, Campus Outreach Atlanta, Campus Crusade for Christ, Hospitality Ministry and the CAU Worship Choir. In 2017, the NCES reported that this Historically Black University had around 3,300 undergraduate students.

Seattle Pacific University

Seattle Pacific University in Washington helps promote the spiritual lives of its students through chapel services, men's and women's ministries, prayer and communion, Group (worship service) and ministries specifically designed for transfer students and students in the residence halls. According to the NCES, this university had close to 3,000 undergraduate students in 2017. The university offers a BA in Apparel Design that culminates in a senior capstone course and requires a portfolio. Students in the program can also participate in internship opportunities and/or the student-led Fashion Group on campus. The school also offers an apparel design and fashion merchandising minor.

Villa Maria College

Villa Maria College is an all undergraduate institution in New York that had about 600 students in 2017, per the NCES. The college has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Fashion Design and Merchandising program offering tracks specifically in fashion design or merchandising. Students in the program have access to equipment currently used in the field, such as state-of-the-art sewing stations and a computer studio with CAD software. Those studying fashion design may wish to join Fashion Club, but they may also want to participate in Campus Ministry Club to help deepen their faith. The school's Campus Ministry offers students spiritual retreats, pastoral counseling, Scripture studies and other spiritual resources and activities.

Baylor University

Baylor University in Texas offers a major in apparel design and product development that requires an internship experience. Students also must participate in the university's fashion show each spring to showcase concepts and skills learned in the program. Students in the program can also participate in summer study tours in Europe or North America. Spiritual life on campus consists of worship and chapel services, local and global missions, pastoral care, Sports Ministry and Youth Ministry. According to the NCES, the university had roughly 14,300 undergraduate students in 2017.
