Huntington University in Indiana had close to 250 graduate students, per the NCES. The university offers a 3-year doctoral degree program in occupational therapy (OTD) that includes clinical experiences, research opportunities and an advanced practice project. Students in the program also complete a residency, where they gain additional experience in a specific area of practice. For their spiritual lives, students on campus can participate in chapel services, mission opportunities, Small Groups, prayer events, Bible studies and volunteer experiences.
Messiah College in Pennsylvania has a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) degree program that can be completed in 26 months, full-time. The program follows a cohort-learning model and includes community service opportunities and networking opportunities with the local occupational therapy (OT) community. Students at the college can grow spiritually through chapel and worship services, Bible studies, small groups and a variety of local, national and global service opportunities. In 2017, the NCES reported that the college had a little more than 570 graduate students.
Abilene Christian University
Abilene Christian University in Texas supports students' spiritual growth through chapel and worship services, Bible studies, mission opportunities and service experiences, like the Service Action Leadership Team (SALT). According to the NCES, the university had about 1,480 graduate students in 2017. The university offers a Master of Science (MS) in Occupational Therapy that includes two phases of fieldwork and clinical experience. The program can be completed in 24 months and according to the school's website, the 2015-2017 class boasted a 100% graduation rate and 100% pass rate on the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam.
Tennessee's Milligan College had a little more than 310 graduate students in 2017, per the NCES. The college offers an MS in Occupational Therapy that boasts a 100% job placement rate for graduates and can be completed in 2.5 years by full-time students, according to the school's website. The program includes fieldwork experiences and a capstone project, while also providing students with small class sizes and hands-on laboratory experiences. The school has a Spiritual Formation Program for all full-time students that helps students grow spiritually through chapel services, prayer groups, worship events, Bible studies, spiritual retreats, mission trips, service opportunities, fellowship meals and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).
Nazareth College in New York offers a unique Bachelor of Science (BS)/MS in Occupational Therapy that is 5 years in length and includes field experiences and internship opportunities. Students in the program also have the opportunity to participate in research, clinical outreach activities and hands-on learning at the school's on-campus OT clinic. Students can further develop their faith through chapel services, spiritual lectures and concerts and spiritual organizations on campus, like the Nazareth Christian Fellowship and the Center for Spirituality Council (interfaith group). According to the NCES, the college had close to 710 graduate students in 2017.
