Grand Canyon University
Including its online students, Grand Canyon University had about 46,300 undergraduate students in 2016, per the NCES. This university in Arizona offers an online Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Youth Ministry with 7-week-long courses. Students in the program take courses in topics including Christian ethics, Christian theology, adolescent development and faith formation, ministerial communication and leadership and administration in youth ministry. The university's weekly chapel services are streamed live through the school's YouTube channel for anyone, including online students, to enjoy and use to deepen their faith.
Eastern University in Pennsylvania offers an online BA in Youth Ministry Leadership that includes a 1-week residency on campus in May. During this time, students meet with youth ministry professionals at a variety of ministry sites and receive practical experience in the field. Online students can stay connected to the university and grow in their faith by watching live streams of chapel services on campus and/or following the Office of Faith and Practice through social media. In 2016, the NCES reported that the school had a little over 2,080 undergraduate students.
Huntington University in Indiana provides its students with online podcasts of various spiritual events, such as chapel services, Mid-Day Prayer sessions and Forester Lecture series, to help them deepen their faith. According to the NCES, the school had about 1,000 undergraduate students and close to 300 graduate students in 2016. The university offers a unique online Master of Arts in Global Youth Ministry that takes 2 years to complete and has 7-week-long courses. The program takes on a global perspective and prepares students to work with youth in and out of the United States, all while teaching students how to maintain personal spiritual health.
Toccoa Falls College
Toccoa Falls College is an undergraduate institution in Georgia that had about 1,250 students in 2016, per the NCES. The school has an online youth ministries major that includes an internship for hands-on learning experience. The internship can be taken anywhere in the world, and the program trains students in theory and the practical applications in the field. Remote students can worship and build their faith by watching online Community Worship videos and/or live streams of the Grace Chapel services.
University of Dallas
Texas' University of Dallas offers students a unique, online Master of Pastoral Ministry - Youth Ministry (MPM-YM) program specifically designed for youth ministry leaders. The program is 2 years in length, follows a cohort and executive model and includes a special, 2-week-long study abroad experience in Rome, Italy. The school had close to 1,410 undergraduates and 950 graduate students in 2016, per the NCES. Online students at the university can follow weekly and Sunday readings that the Campus Ministry posts, as well as explore some of the online resources and prayer links that it provides, to help further develop their faith.
