Schools in Oregon with Graduate Degree Programs in Clinical Psychology
Forest Grove's Pacific University offers a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology. Students who enter the program with a master's can finish the program in 4 years, while those who do not have a master's can finish in 5 years. The final year of the program consists of a doctoral internship that totals 1,500 hours, and students must also complete a dissertation and comprehensive examination portfolio project. Students who do not have a master's degree must also complete a master's thesis and earn a master's degree in addition to the PhD.
Oregon Health and Science University
Beginning in the fall of 2019, the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland will have a doctorate program in clinical psychology. The program will allow students to focus in areas of the development and implementation of clinical trials, health psychology or the neuroscience of mental health disorders. The program will require a minimum of 190 credits, a doctoral internship and a dissertation. Throughout the program students will participate in practicum experiences that may take place on campus at OHSU or at satellite campuses.
University of Oregon
The University of Oregon in Eugene provides a PhD in Clinical Psychology that places an emphasis on evidence-based treatments. Students in the program receive training in the assessment of and psychopathology for patients from infancy to adulthood, as well as training in topics like diversity and neuropsychology.
