For mothers who have a knack for baking, they may want to consider starting a baking operation from their home. While this may seem outside the field of customer service, being an at-home baker will definitely involve dealing with customers and providing them a high level of service in order to be successful. You may specialize in cakes, cookies, breads, or specialty items for events. This job would allow you to set your own schedule and never leave your home, except for deliveries and trips to buy more ingredients. To become a baker, no formal training is necessary other than a skill and love for baking. You may have greater success in finding business if you set up a professional website and social media accounts.
Customer Service Representative
Customer service representatives usually work for companies and organizations and field customer phone calls, emails, and chat requests. Often they help settle complaints, work on orders, or provide information to customers about products. For example, a customer could call in with a request to cancel or alter an order. The CSR would provide assistance to the customer over the phone or computer. While many CSRs work from a large office space, some may be allowed to work from home as long as they have the proper technology. To become a CSR, no degree is required but some training may be necessary, as well as skills in communication and customer service.
Computer Support Specialist
As a computer support specialist, you will either be providing service for other employees within your company or you will be handling customer inquiries. Regardless, your role mainly involves helping users solve technology problems. Their computer may not be functioning properly or they may be having issues with their Internet connection. Sales agents need to have a high level of communication skills and must also be very organized.
