Within the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area, there are many universities where students can pursue a Master of Business Administration degree. Read on to learn more about five programs in DFW, as well as admission requirements for MBA programs.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) can be an excellent credential to propel graduates to a range of positions within the business world. For those who wish to study business in the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) area, there are a range of different programmatic options.

MBA Programs in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area

University of Texas - Dallas

UT-Dallas's Jindal School of Business provides a wide range of options for those wishing to earn an MBA. Students can choose a full-time, flex, professional, executive, or online program. In addition, several dual degree programs are available. Concentrations include energy management, real estate, international management, and marketing. Many research centers at UT-Dallas include the Center for Intelligent Supply Networks and the Center for Health Care Leadership and Management. Student organizations such as the big data club and project management club allow for participation in business activities outside of the classroom.

Texas Christian University

Texas Christian University, in Fort Worth, also offers a range of MBA options at its Neely School of Business, including full-time, executive, and professional MBAs. Specialty MBAs in energy and health care are also available. International study trips can help business students gain a global lens on their studies. Students have frequent opportunities to participate in networking events, such as employer roundtables and live corporate cases. Scholarships may be available.

University of Texas - Austin

The McCombs School of Business at UT-Austin offers its MBA program in cities around Texas, including Dallas/Fort Worth. Cohort classes are offered on alternating weekends, and most students will earn their MBA within two years. Those who are enrolled will take prescribed courses in areas like financial accounting and operations management and also participate in two intensive seminars. A one-on-one coaching program may help students refine their skills in leadership and communication.

University of Texas - Arlington

UT-Arlington offers an MBA professional cohort program in downtown Fort Worth. Students take one course at a time in five or eight week sessions. Classes are held on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings. Most will complete the degree in 24 months. A capstone course in strategic management allows students to tie together areas of their degree program. Foundational courses are available for those who did not complete an undergraduate degree in business.

University of Dallas

The University of Dallas offers both onsite, online, and hybrid MBA program options through its Gupta College of Business. The program can be completed in one to three years. Concentrations are available in areas including cybersecurity, strategic leadership, and finance. Students can also earn microcredentials in specific business skills such as data modeling, portfolio management, or business strategy.

Admissions

Those who are applying to MBA programs in the Dallas/Fort Worth area should expect to complete the application for each MBA program to which they are applying. In addition, candidates must provide a resume and transcript to each university. Those with work experience may be preferred. Other requirements may include standardized test scores such as the GMAT or GRE, a statement of academic intent, and letters of recommendation.
