Dual Degree Programs in the Chicago Area

Dominican University/Loyola University Chicago MLIS/MA

Through a partnership developed between Dominican University and Loyola University Chicago, students can pursue a dual MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science)/MA (Master of Arts) in Public History. This could be excellent preparation for those preparing for careers as archivists or academic librarians. Students must complete 30 credit hours at the school of library science, and 24 credit hours in the MA program. Specific courses may include archives and records management or writing public history.

University of Chicago MDiv/AM

At the University of Chicago, a dual degree program is available to earn a MDiv (Master of Divinity)/AM (Master of Arts) in Social Services Administration. The MA is accredited as a master's level social work degree. This degree can be especially useful for those who hope to achieve leadership positions in religiously-based social service agencies. Students usually complete three field placements: two individually focused, and one which integrates the requirements of each program. Courses might include end of life care or spirituality in social work practice.

DePaul JD/MS

DePaul University has developed a course of study leading to the JD (Juris Doctor)/MS (Master of Science) in Computer Science Technology. Northwestern University PhD/DPT
