The school also offers an advanced certificate in TESOL that requires 30 credits of study. Students must possess a bachelor's degree in order to apply for the master's degree programs. Those pursuing the certificate will need to already have a master's degree. The admissions process involves submitting an online application, two letters of recommendation, a personal statement, and a resume. Students will also need to submit their scores from the GRE or MAT tests, along with a non-refundable application free of $75.00.
Niagara University also offers two TESOL master's degree programs. Students can pursue a Master of Science in TESOL, which is for those who hold a degree in education and New York initial state teacher certification. An 18-credit advanced certificate program in TESOL is also available for those with current teacher certification. The second master's program will provide students with initial teacher certification, which requires students to complete two full-time student teaching assignments. Students will need to mail their undergraduate transcripts to the university. They will need to submit two references (via mail or online) and a statement of intent and a resume online. Students will also need to mail their testing scores from the GRE, Accuplacer, SAT, or ACT.
Students will need to complete an online application for the graduate program at Mercy College. The college requires a non-refundable $40 processing fee and undergraduate transcripts. Additional documentation can include a personal statement, recommendation letters, resume, and test scores. Mercy College offers a Master of Science in TESOL with two possible tracks.
