What Does a Facilities Engineering Manager Do?
Facilities engineering managers serve in an expert role in all aspects of an organization's physical infrastructure needs, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); structural and civil engineering requirements; maintenance of a facility's building automation system (BAS); lighting; roofing; fire protection; and other specific structural needs. Managers collaborate with other organization engineers to establish and implement design specs and standards for the facility. They serve as leads in analyzing the facility infrastructure for deficiencies and inefficiencies, as well as designing methods for evaluating the facility's condition.
