Massachusetts College of Art and Design

Located in the heart of Boston, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design offers a Master of Fine Art in Design thorough its Dynamic Media Institute. With this master's degree program, you will find new research techniques to inform your work and improve your presentation skills along the way. The master's degree program can be completed through three different tracks - a two-year program completed in four semesters, a three-year program lasting five semesters, or a three-year program with six semesters - depending on how you wish to earn your elective credits. You can do anything from experiment with sound and motion to explore the applications of new technology to studio work.

The Dynamic Media Institute also offers a Graduate Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Design. This program takes one year and can be earned with 24 to 29 credits. Just like the master's program, you will work directly with a faculty member to find the courses that are best suited for your academic and professional goals.

Those who lack experience in the arts will have to complete as many as 73 total credits on the way to a master's degree. As few as 36 credits are required for students with a BFA in Graphic Design. Some of the courses you can take include topics like the future of graphic design, computer applications, and typography.

All students planning to attend a graduate graphic design program in Boston will need to submit a portfolio of their recent artwork. Pieces should be included in the online application or submitted through a website designated by the university, as physical copies are typically not accepted by the admissions department.
