Description of Online High Schools in Idaho
When deciding whether or not to enroll in an online high school program, students and their parents may want to take time considering how online high school differs from traditional high school programs. Many virtual programs allow students to work at their own pace and may not require daily attendance via a login. This flexibility requires that students manage their time well and exercise more discipline in order to complete their work. Students who need constant reminders and encouragement from teachers may want to think carefully before enrolling in an online program, unless a parent or guardian plans to monitor their progress. However, the flexibility of online school may be ideal for very independent students, as well as students who are heavily involved in extracurricular activities that don't accommodate for a regular school schedule. Below, we will look at the five schools mentioned in the table in detail.
View High School
View High School is a national online private school that is available to students who live in all parts of the United States, including Idaho. When progressing through their classes, students will access coursework and content through View High School's online learning platform in which the courses are delivered by video. Students who are in need of additional help can contact their instructors during regularly scheduled office hours. In addition, it may be possible for students who are interested in going to college to transfer credit that they earned while enrolled at View and receive college-level credit.

Inspire Connections Academy is an Idaho-specific program credited by the Idaho Public Charter School Commission. This public-school program offers core courses, including honors and Advanced Placement (AP) levels, as well as many different elective courses in subjects ranging from journalism and technology to foreign languages. Students who are interested in participating in extracurricular activities, despite their status as an online student, can do so by joining a student club or organization like the College Planning club or the Debate Club. The school also organizes SAT preparation courses, which is good news for students who plan on attending college and need guidance in regard to preparing for this exam.

This program suits the needs of many types of students, as the core curriculum subjects of math, English, science, and history are all taught at four different levels according to the student's level of achievement - core, comprehensive, honors, and AP. There are also a number of elective courses available. Students in this program also have the option of enrolling in college level courses through local colleges and universities to earn dual credit.
iSucceed Virtual High School
iSucceed Virtual High School is another option for students in Idaho. Beyond academics, students can also participate in virtual clubs and attend an annual school party with their fellow classmates.
