High-paying jobs will offer significantly higher salaries than the median annual salary for all careers. Jobs that involve working with people are careers that involve regular interaction with others instead of working independently.

They also oversee other human resources staff so their work involves regularly interacting with other people, and they earn a high salary exceeding $106,000 according to the BLS. They need to have a bachelor's degree and practical experience in human resources to qualify for their career.

Directors

Directors must have a bachelor's degree and experience in a related field, such as the film industry. They are highly paid, with a median annual income of more than $70,000 per year according to the BLS. Their work involves choosing actors for roles, overseeing rehearsals and providing direction to the people who are part of the film crew and other professionals involved in the production. All of these tasks require them to regularly work and interact with other people.

Postsecondary Teachers

The primary focus of the work that postsecondary teachers do is to teach students. They also interact with other educational professionals when they work on curriculum guidelines and they may also mentor students about academic decisions so they spend a lot of their time working with others. The $75,430 median annual income reported by the BLS for these educators is more than twice the national median income for all careers. Training and development specialists are business professionals who help companies develop and improve employee training programs. Their work involves interviewing staff, training instructors and evaluating employee performance. All of these aspects of their work involve interaction with other people. According to the BLS, training and development specialists earned a median annual income of $59,020 in 2016.

Psychologists

Psychologists must have a master's or doctoral degree in psychology. The focus of their work is to understand human behavior and they may be involved in observing people in different environments as part of a research project, treating patients with mental health issues or providing counseling to people with personal problems. Their BLS-reported median annual income of $75,230 is more than double the median income for all occupations. Since their work concentrates on observing and interacting with people they are professionals who regularly work with people.

Police and Sheriff's Patrol Officers

Police and sheriff's patrol officers enjoyed a median annual salary of $59,680 according to the BLS. They often work with other law enforcement professionals when responding to calls and they talk to victims, witnesses and suspects during their regular duties. Since they interact regularly with people while performing their duties and earn a salary that's much higher than the median for all occupations this is a high-paying career that involves working with people. They must graduate from academy training to prepare for their career and may need either a high school diploma or bachelor's degree.

Makeup Artists, Theatrical and Performing

Makeup artists can enter the field with a high school diploma or GED, although it's common for these professionals to prepare for their career by earning a postsecondary certificate or associate's degree. They use their talents to put makeup on actors and performers so that they can convey an intended image through their appearance that is suited to the mood, time period or nature of their character. They spend a great deal of time with performers while they put makeup on them and they also interact with other staff while preparing their makeup plans for each character and production so they regularly work with other people. The BLS reported an annual median income of $60,970 for makeup artists in the theatrical and performing field in 2016, which makes this a high-paying career option.
