Electricians are in charge of the installation of communications and lighting equipment, along with anything else that involves electrical power, throughout residential and commercial buildings. Electricians can learn their trade with an apprenticeship, or by attending a technical school. States typically require them to have a license as well.

Those who assist brickmasons, blockmason, stonemasons, and setters of marble and tile have a number of responsibilities. They can clean up the job site, aid in the set up of equipment, and transport different tools that masons will use throughout the day. Helpers have no specific requirements for formal education, and will learn everything they need to know during their job training.

Medical Secretary

Along with administrative duties that include answering phones and filing, medical secretaries can also expect to work in transcription and insurance payment processing. Familiarization with medical diagnosis codes and hospital rules. Medical secretaries need a high school education, and will learn most of their duties during job training. It might help to take courses in office procedures at a community college as well.

Physical Therapy Aide

Aides in physical therapy handle many different tasks while under the guidance of a physical therapist or their assistants. Organization and administrative duties are just a few of the job duties for a physical therapy aide, and each state has different laws regarding the restrictions on what aides can and cannot do as part of their job. Physical therapy aides must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, and employers tend to hire those with computer and word processing skills.

Medical Assistant

Medical assistants are equally versed in clinical support and administration. When they are not helping physicians with things like blood pressure and examinations, they are scheduling appointments and entering data into the records of patients. Medical assistants can work in optometry, podiatry, and many other different fields. While a high school diploma is required, some medical assistants seek a certificate in their field before pursuing a career.

Dental Assistant

Dental assistants have different responsibilities depending on the number of staff at their office. They can perform instrument sterilization, patient instruction, and the operation of an X-ray machine. In certain states, assistants are allowed to perform fluoride and sealant applications. Dental assistants will also work on the administrative side, scheduling appointments and processing payments. Some states need dental assistants to pass exams, while others have no formal requirements for education.
