Stay-at-home moms could perform their duties as a virtual assistant from a home office.

Real Estate Sales Agent

Real estate sales agents perform a variety of duties in helping people purchase or sell property. Most often they deal with residential properties. They do things like process paperwork, settle prices, and advise their clients. A stay-at-home mom could run her own real estate business from home since many real estate sales agents work from a home office. They typically need a high school diploma and state licensing.

Customer Service Representative

Customer service representatives are employed to maintain positive relations with their customers by dealing with complaints, handling orders, and answering questions. They work for many different types of companies, some of which have remote, or work from home, positions. Usually, this means the representative needs to have a separate phone line for customers. Customer service representatives need just a high school diploma, as well as some computer and effective communication skills.

Help Desk Technician

Also called computer user support specialists, help desk technicians offer support to customers when they have trouble with their computers. Medical Transcriptionist

Medical transcriptionists write down the words spoken in a report or medical recording. Usually these recordings are dictations by a doctor, nurse, or other healthcare personnel. They also proofread and correct errors, translate medical abbreviations, and other tasks. Many medical transcriptionists work from home, making this an option for a stay-at-home mom. They don't need a degree, but training through a non-degree transcriptionist program to help them become familiar with the practice and terminology is usually required.
