Lawyer

Lawyers are legal professionals who provide their clients with advice and representation in a variety of legal settings, like depositions, court cases, and in legal correspondence, to name a few possibilities. Lawyers must be very knowledgeable about the type of law they practice, whether it be taxation, intellectual property, or litigation, in order to provide their clients with the best possible representation. Being a creative problem solver is a very helpful skill to have as a lawyer, as you may be presented with new challenges and complicated cases on a regular basis. To become a lawyer, you must complete a three-year law program following a bachelor's degree and then pass the bar exam in the state in which you wish to practice.

Elementary, Middle, and High School Principal

As an elementary, middle, or high school principal, you would be the main administrator of a school and will be directly or indirectly responsible for all of the details regarding the school's daily operation. This includes creating school calendars, developing curriculum, making sure teachers are effective in their classrooms through observation and evaluation, managing the budget, and guiding students who may be struggling in class or displaying behavioral problems. Because a principal's job is likely going to be different on a daily basis, depending on the problems of the day, being able to come up with creative solutions to these issues will definitely be an asset. To become an elementary, middle, or high school principal, you will need a master's degree in a field like leadership or education administration.

Detective/Criminal Investigator

Detectives and criminal investigators are a type of law enforcement officer that is responsible for solving complex cases. This job involves gathering evidence, visiting crime scenes, and conducting interviews with witnesses and suspects. It is the detective's job to be able to put all of this information together and solve the case, which often may require a good portion of creativity. To become a detective or criminal investigator, you will need to complete the training academy offered by the police department in which you wish to work.

Architect

Architects create the designs and drawings that dictate how structures like residential homes, apartment buildings, and office buildings look and are built. Architects may work with clients that have complex visions for their future space, in which case architects would have to use their ability to be creative to deliver a design that fits the client's needs. These professionals may also have to combat problems regarding building codes and regulations and are responsible for making sure that builders follow the details of their designs. To become an architect, you will need to complete some sort of architectural degree at either the bachelor's or master's level, along with an internship, before passing the national architecture exam.

Top Executive

Top executives work for organizations and companies in all industries and fields and are usually responsible for a specific aspect of the company, like their finances or operations, though some may be responsible for many aspects, like a chief executive officer. These professionals may often be confronted with challenging problems like overspending, policy development, and contract negotiation. In these instances, the ability to solve problems in a creative way would be an asset. To become a top executive, you will usually need at least a bachelor's degree in a field that is related to your industry, along with significant work experience.

Public Relations Specialist

As a public relations specialist, you generally will work on the behalf of an organization or company and be responsible for cultivating and maintaining their public image. Sometimes this may involve handling public relations crises or bad press, both of which would require very creative problem solving skills. You also may be employed to help a company with a bad image or reputation to recover and regain public support. To become a public relations specialist, you will usually need a bachelor's degree in a field like journalism or public relations.
