Writers and Authors

Writers and authors can work from just about anywhere, especially if they have access to a computer and the Internet, and may even travel to various locations for inspiration. These professionals create written content for books, magazines, blogs and other media on any number of topics. Writers and authors may need access to the Internet to stay in contact with their editor and submit drafts to their editor in preparation for publication. Writers and authors need a college degree and some experience in the field.

Photographers

Photographers can take pictures of anything, and therefore, can work from anywhere in the world. Some photographers may specialize in taking pictures of people, scenery, animals or other subjects, typically with a digital camera. Most photographers also use photo-enhancing software and other photography techniques to create high-quality pictures for their clients and to include in their professional portfolio. Many photographers do not need a formal education, but some positions may require a bachelor's degree, such as that of a photojournalist.

Computer Programmers

Computer programmers can work from anywhere they have access to a computer to write code. These professionals create and test codes for software and different applications to make sure that everything is working properly. They may also update existing programs, fix any malfunctions and utilize codes from a code library. A bachelor's degree is usually required for computer programmers, but some employers may only require an associate's degree.

Fine Artists

Fine artists can work from anywhere in the world to create their various pieces of artwork. Fine artists may specialize in areas like sculpture, paint or illustration and experiment with different visual techniques, such as space, color, perspective and texture to create a diverse portfolio. These artists may apply for grants and other forms of funding for their projects and usually display their work in galleries, museums or other marketplaces. Fine artists typically hold a bachelor's or master's degree in fine arts.

Physicians

They likely need to stay in contact with the art director, other team members and/or their client to complete a project, but can work independently designing visual concepts for magazines, advertisements, brochures and other media. Graphic designers also create logos and choose the colors, layouts, images and fonts used in their work. Most graphic designers need a professional portfolio and a bachelor's degree.
