Aurora University

At Aurora University, students can attend class either on a full-time or part-time basis in the daytime, evenings, or even on weekends. This flexible program requires 1,050 hours of instruction in the field, which is usually accomplished over the course of two years of study. This program offers several specializations, including addictions, child welfare, and forensic social work. One prerequisite is having completed a basic statistics course with a grade of C or better.

Chicago State University

The Master of Social Work program at Chicago State University offers both full-time and part-time options, the full-time program being completed in two years and the part-time program being completed in a maximum of four years. To stay in the program, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. A field practicum is also required, and concentrations are available in School Social Work, Direct Practice in Family and Children Service, and Administration and Planning in Family and Children Services. To enroll in this program, a bachelor's degree is required, along with other important items like official transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and a personal essay.

Dominican University

Students can find what they need in the Master of Social Work program at Dominican University through several concentrations in school social work, military social work, and gerontology. This program also offers two dual master's degree programs, one with their Brennan School of Business and one with their Graduate School of Library and Information Science. The Council on Social Work Education gave this program accreditation.

Erikson Institute

The Erikson Institute offers a Master of Social Work that trains students specifically in advocating for children and families. Graduates are equipped to operate in a variety of settings, such as child welfare, courts, education, research, family support, and early care and education. The program offers completion schedules in either two years or three years. Core courses include Research Methods; Development of Cognition, Language, and Play; Collective Action for Social Justice; and Family and Culture.

Southern Illinois University-Carbondale

Students can find a solid Master of Social Work program at this school, where they can complete the program with an option to simultaneously complete a dual master's degree in law. To enroll in this program, students must have a GPA of 3.0 from their last two years of undergraduate work; to be admitted to the advanced standing version of this program, students must also have obtained a bachelor's degree in social work. Courses offered in this program include Generalist Practice, Ethnic Diversity in Social Work, and Social Work Policy Practice.
