Nestled in the Texas city of Forth Worth, Texas Christian University offers a Master of Social Work program that outfits graduates for solid careers in social work. Courses that students will see in the first year of this program include Micro Practice, Human Behavior and the Social Environment, and Diversity and Social Justice. Field education is a requirement of this program.

Texas A&M University-Commerce

At Texas A&M University in Commerce, Texas, students can enroll in the Master of Social Work program to prepare for Texas state licensing testing. Courses that can be found in this program include Clinical Practice in Mental Health and Social Work Supervision and Administration. To be eligible for this program, students must submit a resume, a professional narrative statement, hold a bachelor's degree, and fulfill other important requirements.

Stephen F. Austin State University

Located in the city of Nacogdoches, the Master of Social Work program at Stephen F. Austin State University has two options, a two-year full-time program and a maximum four-year part-time program. Our Lady of the Lake University

This university located in San Antonio, TX, offers a Master of Social Work (MSW) program with a field education component requiring 450 hours or 500 hours, depending on their eligibility to be part of the MSW regular or advanced standing programs. Both programs offer a concentration in services to Hispanic children and family. For entry into the advanced standing program, a bachelor's in social work is needed, along with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0.

University of Texas at Arlington

At this Arlington-based university, students in the Master of Social Work program will have access to two concentrations, one in Direct Practice and the other in Community and Administrative Practice. Common courses in this program include Generalist Micro Practice, Foundations of Social Policy and Services, and Research and Evaluation Methods in Social Work.
