Oklahoma Master's Programs in Education

University of Oklahoma

At the University of Oklahoma's Jeannine Rainbolt School of Education, students can choose from a range of MEd degrees. Learners can choose to study at the Tulsa and Norman campuses. Northwestern Oklahoma State University

Students can earn an MEd in several areas at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. Program options include curriculum and instruction, adult education, and reading specialist. Oral Roberts University

Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa, offers a range of opportunities to earn an MEd. Students can select from among programs in Christian school administration, public school administration, and interdisciplinary studies. An MAT designed to confer initial teaching licensure can also be earned. Course delivery options include a modular option with four-day campus intensives, a fully online program, and a summer institute where two days are spent on campus with pre- and post- assignments to complete.

Cameron University

At Cameron University, in Lawton, students can pursue an MEd in Education. The program is primarily designed for practicing teachers who want to expand their scope of expertise in the classroom, but an alternative certification option is also available. Program concentrations include literacy, special education, and teaching and learning. Students must maintain an electronic portfolio, which is evaluated at the midpoint and conclusion of their graduate studies.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University

Oklahoma Wesleyan University, with campuses in Bartlesville and Tulsa, provides a course of study leading to a Master of Science in Education. Courses can be taken on-campus or online. Tracks are available for aspiring principals and for classroom teachers, and students can complete the degree in less than two years. A portfolio is a graduation requirement. As a Christian university, values and ethics are incorporated throughout the program.

Admissions

Admission requirements for graduate education programs vary by university and by program. Frequently, prospective students are asked to submit transcripts from their bachelor's degree programs. Some schools only admit candidates with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and require previous coursework in education.
