Colleges Offering Master's in Finance Programs in New York

Fordham University

Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business offers a Master of Science in Global Finance program. The curriculum focuses on global finance, economic management, capital raising, and asset and risk management in organizations. This three-semester program lasts one year, but students can opt to complete an internship and extend this program to a period of one and a half years. Students must select a specialization from one of three tracks available: corporate finance, risk management, and investment management. This program requires 12 courses or 36-credit hours, of which 15 should be from a specialization track. Some foundational courses are available for students with no finance background.

Additionally, a part-time MBA program with finance concentration is available at Fordham University for working professionals with 5-7 years of work experience.

Iona College

The LaPenta School of Business at Iona College offers an MS degree in finance. This program explores topics like financial system operations, analysis of corporate investments, and financial strategies in organizations. This master's degree program requires 12 courses for a total of 36 credit hours.

Additionally, an MBA program with a finance concentration is available at Iona College. This program requires 36 credit hours and is available on-campus and online. Full-time and part-time options are available for this MBA with a duration of 12 months and 20 months, respectively.

Hofstra University

Students must complete this entire program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The MBA in Finance degree includes a business core and 4-5 electives related to finance. In comparison to the MS in Finance, this program takes longer. It requires 36 credit hours for students with a business background and 48 credit hours for students with no business background. Students are required to complete this program with an average grade of B or higher.

Pace University

Pace University offers an MS in Financial Management, which covers topics in financial analysis, corporate finance, and firm valuation. The curriculum includes 33-46 credits, depending on students' background. Through elective courses, students can specialize in investment management. Students also have the option of completing a research project for course credit.

Manhattanville College

Manhattanville College offers a Master of Science in Finance program. Three specialization options are available: accounting, investment management, and corporate finance. Admission Requirements

To pursue a master's degree in finance, applicants should have a bachelor's degree. A GPA of 3.0 or higher throughout a bachelor's degree program might be mandatory in a few colleges. Some colleges require applicants without a finance background to complete foundational courses.
