It is a 36-credit, self-paced program completed at the university's campus, with classes offered in the evening and on the weekends. During their coursework, students can learn about recruitment, compensation, performance management, managing teams, employment or business law, and more.The program also has four optional tracks in analytics, coaching, organization development, and talent development. Students can also complete this program as part of a dual degree option with an MBA. The MBA/MA option requires 57 credits and combines human resources topics with courses in general business strategy.

Averett University

Students can complete an MBA with a concentration in human resource management at Averett University in Danville. This 40-credit program gives students a basis in business strategy, finance, marketing strategy, organizational behavior, and more. The human resource management track covers topics such as compensation and benefits, labor laws, and recruitment. This program is designed for working professionals; however, work experience is not a requirement to be accepted into the program.

Liberty University

Liberty University in Lynchburg offers an MBA in Human Resources that is designed for people who want to become human resource managers. This two-year program has general business courses about legal issues, operations management, research methods and more. The courses specific to human resource management are about topics such as human resource development, workforce planning and compensation. A final capstone project gives students real-world experience in the human resources field.

Program Admission Requirements

The admission requirements for a master's degree program in human resource management vary depending on the school and the program, but they all require applicants to have a bachelor's degree and to submit university transcripts; some prefer that applicants have a 3.0 GPA or above in their undergraduate careers. Schools may also ask for resumes and letters of recommendation as well as for the students to have completed specific undergraduate business courses. GRE scores are generally not required for general master's degree programs in human resource management; however, they are more likely to be required if the program is part of an MBA degree.
