California Master's Programs in Management

California Lutheran University

California Lutheran University offers an MS in Management program. This one-year program covers leadership and management skills needed for business management. This master's program is available on campus in four locations: Oxnard, Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, and Woodland Hills. Additionally, this university offers online format and evening classes, along with full-time and part-time options for flexibility.

The curriculum comprises ten courses related to financial and economic management, marketing, business and IT management, organization strategies, business ethics, and foundations to economics, accounting, and statistics. The students are required to achieve 31 credits to complete this degree, including three credits from either a project on international travel or an internship.

Saint Mary's College

An MS in Management program is available at Saint Mary's College located in Moraga, with full-time and part-time options. It is primarily designed for students with no prior business background. A field project in association with a Bay Area organization is part of this program to provide an opportunity to explore real-world business practices and working structure.

This one-year MS program is offered in four quarters with three evening classes per week. The curriculum contains eight modules related to finance, economics, data analysis and visualization, supply chain management, leadership and business management, and two field projects related to international business.

Claremont Graduate University

Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University provides a fast-track Master of Arts in Management (MAM) program. Courses related to business analysis, supply chain management, marketing, leadership, and organization management are part of this master's program. This program requires 32 credits with12 units of core courses and 20 units of elective courses.

Drucker School offers flexible options to complete this program with one to two years of duration. Full-time students can complete this degree in two semesters, while part-time students can complete in four semesters.

University of California

The University of California at Merced offers a Master of Management (M.M.) program, which enables students to learn practical management skills through real-time project-based education. Students explore concepts related to leadership, management, business analysis, policy analysis, risk management, and corporate strategies during this 12-month program.

This is a ten-course program, which covers four to five courses per semester and a capstone project. Students get opportunities to work on several case studies and team projects to understand organizations' working structures.

Mills College

This Oakland-based college features a one-year Master of Management degree. This program trains students in accounting and financial concepts, leadership concepts, economic and finance topics, marketing strategies, negotiation and communication concepts. Students need to complete 30 course credits from three core courses, two courses from quantitative or behavioral tracks, and five elective courses. This college provides an option to switch to an MBA program after completion of one semester.

Admission Requirements

For admissions, students with a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution are eligible. In a few schools, the applicants are expected to submit GRE/GMAT scores if their cumulative GPA in undergraduate studies is less than 2.8. Official transcripts from all previously attended schools are mandatory. Besides, students need to submit a resume, statement of purpose, and two letters of recommendation.
