Coursework for Online MBA/MDiv Dual Degree Programs

Students will receive training in both business topics, such as organizational behavior and managerial accounting, and faith-based topics, such as the Old Testament and pastoral care and counseling.

MBA Courses

Organizational Behavior

Organizational behavior courses included in MBA curriculum will teach students about the personnel side of companies. They may learn about how organizational culture is created and how relationships among peers and managers affect that culture. Students may also learn about organizational behavior from a management perspective, including how to create and communicate an overall vision and encourage personnel to help meet it.

MBA microeconomics courses examine the relationship between people's actions and resources. Students will study how the decision-making process within an organization is intricately tied to its effectiveness. Topics of study may include the value of various products and services and teamwork.

Managerial Accounting

MBA students may take classes in managerial accounting, which delves into how the accounting process plays into management decisions. They will learn the value of utilizing financial information in order to make more informed decisions. Possible topics of study may include creating organizational budgets, business ethics, and various pricing processes such as transfer pricing.

MDiv Courses

Old Testament

MDiv curriculum often includes courses on the Old Testament, which accounts for approximately 75% of the Bible. The Old Testament books contain poetry, history, and teachings from prophets that point to Jesus coming as the son of God. Students will be able to utilize the teachings from the Old Testament in both professional and lay ministry.

Christian Ethics

MDiv courses in Christian Ethics will examine the ethical and moral issues for modern day Christians. Students will learn how economic, political, and social issues are viewed through the lens of faith. They will also learn how to utilize both their faith and analytical skills when making decisions.

Pastoral Care and Counseling

Pastoral care and counseling courses train students to provide faith-oriented counseling. They will learn communication skills and counseling practices to provide guidance during difficult situations. Students will learn to work with people dealing with issues such as marital crises, illness, and grief.

Online MBA/MDiv Dual Degree Program Admittance Requirements

Most dual degree MBA/MDiv programs require a bachelor's degree for admittance. Students may have to complete separate applications for each portion of the degree. The admissions process often includes an online application, recommendation letters or contact information for references, a statement of purpose detailing professional and personal goals, and official transcripts for all completed degrees. Some programs may require students who attended another seminary but did not earn a degree to provide proof of good academic standing from their prior institution during the application process.

Students interested in an online MBA/MDiv dual degree program will receive training in both business and religious areas, and usually only need a bachelor's degree for admittance. An online program allows the flexibility to learn from anywhere, but students may need to complete internships or on-campus residencies.
