Essentials of an MBA/M.S. in Finance Dual Degree

Between 45-66 credits of coursework is typically required to earn the dual degree, including five or more courses in the Master of Business Administration curriculum, five or more courses in the Master of Science in Finance curriculum, concentration courses, and several elective courses that are common to both degrees. Programs can range between 16-22 total courses, and most cover the following topics.


This type of course is usually part of the MBA curriculum. The marketing process is studied, and this involves examining the functions and institutions of the market. Financial Modeling

The goal is to effectively manage individuals and groups within an organization, regardless of abilities, demeanor, motivations, power dynamics, or company culture.

Program Admission Requirements

A bachelor's degree is required for admission into most dual degree graduate programs. The minimum GPA accepted by some colleges is 2.5. At least two years of work experience could be a requirement or preferred by some schools as well. Students should fill out an application and send college transcripts to the graduate admissions office. Most colleges charge a fee for applying. International students must prove their proficiency in the English language. Other requirements typically requested include letters of recommendation and a resume.
