Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction has a traditional MBA program as well as a 3+2 MBA program for business majors who want to earn their bachelor's degree and MBA faster. The traditional MBA program can be completed in 2 to 3 years and requires 36 credits, including a thesis or research design and practicum experience. Students in the program may choose from various tracks for further specialization, such as a sports management, medical informatics or corporate training. In fall 2019, the program will also be available fully online.
Colorado State University
Colorado State University in Fort Collins provides 2 different online MBA programs, an evening MBA program, an Executive MBA program and a Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise MBA program. Online students can pursue a traditional MBA or an MBA with a specialization in marketing data analytics. The evening MBA program can be completed in 21 months and meets twice a week in the evenings on campus. The Executive MBA program is in a hybrid format where students take online courses and meet on alternate Saturdays in Denver. The Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise MBA program can be completed in 3 semesters and includes a 40- to 60-day field study that includes travel and allows students to acquire hands-on learning experience.
University of Colorado Boulder
The University of Colorado Boulder offers a full-time MBA and an evening MBA program. The full-time program can be completed in 2 years and totals 55 credits. The program follows a cohort model and allows students to participate in summer internships for hands-on experience. It also offers electives in various areas of specialization, such as real estate, finance, entrepreneurship or management. The evening MBA program is a part-time program that meets on campus and can be completed in 2 years.
Newman University has an MBA program that is available in Colorado Springs. Students can take the program in full-, part-time and online formats and can finish the curriculum in as little as 12 months. Students choose from concentrations in leadership, management, finance, business analytics, non-profit management and healthcare administration. Coursework in the program includes case studies to build students' problem-solving skills, and they are instructed by experienced faculty and real-world business professionals.
Colorado State University Pueblo
Colorado State University Pueblo offers an on-campus and online MBA program. Both programs require 36 credits and include core courses in topics such as international business, management policy, ethics, accounting and information systems. The on-campus program provides students with the opportunity to compete for graduate assistantships to help pay for school. The online program allows students to take courses at an accelerated pace and finish in 1 year, or students can complete the program in 2 years.
Common Entrance Requirements
Admission standards for full-time, online and evening MBA programs in Colorado are slightly different than standards for Executive MBA programs, and there is also variation in standards among institutions. In general, many of the MBA programs require students to have at least a bachelor's degree. It is also common for programs to require professional work experience, but Executive MBA programs are likely to require significantly more. Traditional MBA programs are also likely to require minimum GPAs and GMAT or GRE test scores, while most Executive programs do not. Some programs also like to see prior coursework in such areas as algebra, accounting, statistics and economics. Applicants for MBA programs in the state can expect to include their transcripts, letters of recommendation, resume and essay responses with their applications.
