Idaho State University in Pocatello offers an MBA program that can be taken on-campus or online and can be completed in as little as 1 year. The program requires 42 to 51 credits, depending on if students choose to pursue an area of emphasis, such as informatics, marketing, accounting, or economics. The university also provides a variety of dual MBA programs that allow students to also earn graduate degrees in areas like taxation, pharmacy, and healthcare administration. Students in the program can also participate in various experiential learning opportunities, including the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition and consulting projects called Bengal Solutions.
Boise State University
Boise State University in Boise has an online MBA program that can be completed in 12 months. Courses are typically 7 weeks long, and the program offers 6 different start dates throughout the year for flexibility. The program totals 49 units and includes a unique course in developing business plans and an intro course in innovation entitled design thinking. The university also provides a full-time and part-time (for working professionals) MBA program on-campus, as well as an Executive MBA program.
University of Idaho
The University of Idaho in Moscow provides a fast-track Executive MBA program that can be completed in 22 months. The full-time program meets in Coeur d'Alene for a Thursday through Saturday once a month. The program follows a cohort model and breaks the curriculum into topics in framing opportunities, building organizations, optimizing performance, and managing dynamics. Students receive hands-on training through case studies, learning projects, group presentations, guest speakers, and more.
Northwest Nazarene University
Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa offers an online MBA program for working adults. Students can usually complete the program in 16 to 18 months with 8-week long courses. The program provides optional areas of emphasis in healthcare, accounting, and sports management. The courses for the healthcare emphasis are only 5-weeks long, and some of the courses or review sessions for the emphasis in accounting and sports management are face-to-face.
Common Entrance Requirements
Admissions requirements for MBA programs in Idaho vary by institution, as well as by the kind of MBA program, such as an online MBA versus an Executive MBA program. However, the majority of these programs do require applicants to hold a bachelor's degree and meet a minimum GPA. Some programs require the GMAT or GRE, while other programs do not require the exams at all or may waive them in particular instances. A few programs may also require that applicants have at least 2 years of professional work experience to apply. Typically, applications for these programs require students to submit their transcripts, letters of reference, resume or CV, personal statement or essay responses, and some programs may include an interview process.
