Students who are interested in enrolling in an MBA program in the city of Las Vegas have a few options to choose from. Below, this article will explore the three programs that are available to students in greater detail by covering program structure and curriculum offerings, as well as information regarding how students can gain admission into these programs.

Overview of MBA Programs in Las Vegas

University of Nevada, Las Vegas

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas offers students an MBA program that can be completed on either a part-time or full-time basis. Students who enroll in this program can either complete the requirements to obtain a general MBA degree or they can decide to pursue one of three concentrations within the program: management, finance, or marketing. Students who would like to study the management option have further opportunity to specialize their studies according to their interests and career goals, as the school provides additional emphasis areas in fields like health care management and human resources management, among others. Regardless of the option that students choose, all enrolled students must complete the required 18 credits of core curriculum courses in addition to 21 credits of electives and a 3-credit-hour capstone course in strategic management. The school also offers several joint degree programs that would allow students to pursue an MBA while also pursuing a JD, DDM, or Master of Science in areas like hotel administration or management information systems.

DeVry University

Another option for students seeking an MBA program in Las Vegas is the program offered at the Henderson Las Vegas campus of DeVry University. Students who decide to enroll in this program can complete coursework on campus, online, or through a combination of both of these options. This program's required curriculum is comprised of 10 total courses that students can complete on a full- or part-time basis according to their schedules. These courses cover topics like corporate finance, business economics, and strategic marketing. Within the MBA program, students also have the opportunity to select from 11 concentration area options, including health services, finance, and project management, and complete three additional courses in this area to further specialize their degree.

University of Phoenix

Students may also be interested in the MBA program that is offered by the University of Phoenix, which they can complete either online or by attending in-person courses at the school's Las Vegas location. In this program, students are required to complete 36 total credits, or 12 courses, in order to fulfill the requirements for the general MBA program. Students who are interested in pursuing a concentration within the program can select from five options: marketing, project management, human resource management, accounting, or business and health administration. MBA programs with concentrations require the completion of 48 to 58 total credit hours and typically take two years to complete, while the general program can be completed in 18 months. Each course in the University of Phoenix's MBA program is designed to be completed in six weeks and students are able to take only one course at a time, allowing them to continue working and maintain a flexible schedule.

Roseman University of Health Sciences

Another option for students located just outside of Las Vegas in Henderson is the MBA program at Roseman University of Health Sciences. In this program, students are required to complete a total of 39 credit hours, the majority of which are required core curriculum courses. Students also are able to select one elective course according to their interests and must also complete a capstone course. Some topics covered by the required curriculum include marketing, arbitration, business ethics, and managerial accounting. Students who enroll in this program full-time, which entails attending courses during the day, can complete the program in as few as nine months.

Admissions Standards for MBA Programs in Las Vegas

When applying to an MBA program, students will need to submit a number of documents to each program that they are interested in, in order to be considered for admission. This generally includes past academic transcripts, a personal statement, letters of recommendation, and a professional CV or resume. Additionally, MBA programs often require that students submit their results from the GMAT or GRE, though this requirement may be waived if a student has a high enough undergraduate GPA. Some programs may also prefer applicants who have some professional working experience, though this often varies by program and students are advised to check with each program that they are interested in to confirm if there are any specific admission requirements.

To review the information discussed above, there are three options for students who are seeking MBA degrees in Las Vegas. Whether a student prefers having the option of completing coursework online, as well as if they are interested in pursuing a concentration or dual degree, are a few factors that may influence their overall decision regarding which program is the best fit for them.
