Ohio University

Ohio University in Athens offers an accelerated, 1-year MBA, an online MBA and a Professional MBA program. The 1-year program begins in August, includes 42 credits and provides students with hands-on learning opportunities, such as visits to companies and networking experiences. The online MBA program can be finished completely online and offers 8 different concentration areas, such as finance, health care, accounting and business analytics. The Professional MBA program is designed for working professionals and combines online coursework with monthly on-campus residencies that take place on Saturdays.

Bowling Green State University

Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green provides a full- and part-time MBA program, a Professional MBA program and an Executive MBA program. The full-time MBA program can be completed in 12 months and offers specializations in quality systems, strategic communication, finance, accounting and supply chain management. The Professional MBA program is a part-time program that can be completed in 23 months thorough evening courses that take place twice a week at the school's Perrysburg and Findlay campuses. The Executive MBA program can be completed in 21 months. It requires on-campus coursework 1 weekend each month and includes a study abroad experience.

The Ohio State University

Similar to Bowling Green State University, Ohio State University in Columbus has a full-time MBA, an MBA for working professionals and an Executive MBA program, as well as several dual degree options that pair the MBA with degrees like a Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Health Administration (MHA) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). The full-time MBA program includes hands-on consulting projects as well as other experiential learning opportunities, like a Global Applied Projects course. The MBA for working professionals is a part-time program that offers coursework on weekends or in the evenings. The Executive MBA program can be completed in 17 months. Students meet once a month on-campus and complete domestic and international immersion experiences.

Ohio Dominican University

Ohio Dominican University, also in Columbus, offers an online MBA program and an on-campus MBA program as well as a flex option that allows students to select from both delivery formats. All programs require 10 core courses, and students can choose from concentrations in areas like sport management, accounting, finance, leadership, risk management and data analytics. The on-campus MBA meets weekly in the evenings and can be completed in as little as 16 months. The online program allows students to finish the program completely online, and students can still utilize the same resources as on-campus students.

The University of Akron

The University of Akron has a traditional MBA program and a Saturday MBA program. Students in the traditional program can choose from concentrations in areas such as risk management and insurance, global technological innovation, management, strategic marketing and supply chain management. The Saturday MBA program allows students to complete their degree in 2 years while meeting on-campus on alternate Saturdays. Students complete online work as well and can choose from various electives and participate in study abroad experiences.

Common Entrance Requirements

Admission requirements for MBA programs in Ohio vary slightly based on the institution and the particular program, such as traditional or Executive MBA. Most applicants need to have at least a bachelor's degree that meets minimum GPA requirements and acceptable GMAT or GRE scores. Many programs, especially the professional and executive options, also require a specific amount of professional work experience, which may range from about 2 to 5 years, depending on the program. It is fairly common for MBA programs in the state to require applicants to submit their transcripts, letters of recommendation, resumes and personal statements or essay responses with their applications. Some programs include an interview process.
