Ohio has several military-friendly 2-year and 4-year schools. They all provide services such as counseling, tutoring, and advising to help transition students from military life to college life. Most of these schools also offer military students a flexible schedule through online programs and evening courses.

Baldwin Wallace University

Baldwin Wallace University supports military service members and veterans with faculty mentors and a student organization for peer support. They also have online and evening courses available that can help active military members complete their education on their own schedule. Baldwin Wallace University offers career services to assist students with a variety of resources. They help military students and vets develop experience and find internship opportunities; they also provide opportunities to meet with employers. This university is on the small side with under 4,000 students. It is located in a large suburb. Baldwin Wallace University offers certificate programs as well as bachelor's and master's degree programs.

Cleveland State University

Cleveland State University has a Viking Vets program that assists veterans and active military members with a smooth transition into a classroom setting by providing services like counseling, tutoring, and guidance on benefits. A Viking Student Success program is set up at Cleveland State University to help veterans and military members learn more about different majors and choose what they would like to study. Online programs and courses are available. This university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctorate programs. There are almost 17,000 students in attendance.

Cuyahoga Community College

Cuyahoga Community College offers a Veterans Upward Bound program that provides support services, refresher courses, and tutoring to military service members and veterans. In addition, the university has career assessments and counseling to assist with finding a career after graduation. Cuyahoga Community College has numerous associate's degree programs to choose from. This college offers a variety of online services that include coursework, advising, and proctoring. The school is located in a large city and has about 24,000 students in attendance.

Stark State College

Stark State College has a student group called the Veterans of Stark State that helps active military members and veterans with their educational experience. The Office of Military Services provides assistance for past and present military members with career guidance and academic advising. This university has flexible learning options, and students can complete some programs fully online. Stark State College offers a variety of programs, including business, engineering, education, health professions, and more. Over 12,000 students attend, and the college is located in a large suburb setting.

University of Toledo

The University of Toledo has Army and Air Force ROTC programs available to students. They also offer career counseling specific to military members. First step courses are available to adult students entering their educational experience to help transition into college life. This university offers many programs for students to choose from that span from certificates to doctorates. Many of these programs and courses are available online. The University of Toledo houses almost 21,000 students and is located in a large city.
