The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has advocated for strong health education programs in public schools to help combat childhood obesity and other health issues facing young people today. Individuals interested in teaching health may be attracted to the state of New York because New York employs a high number of teachers and pays the highest elementary and middle school teacher salaries in the United States.
