Health Psychology

Core health psychology coursework teaches students about how to create positive changes in individuals. These changes can be accomplished by understanding the dynamic relationship between patients, health providers, and behaviors that impact health outcomes. Students learn various theories about issues that impact health such as health habits and disease. Both Walden University and the University of New Mexico include a health psychology course.

Admission Requirements

Students applying to a graduate program in health psychology will typically need to submit some form of graduate test score. Most commonly, students will need to submit their GRE scores, though schools may or may not list a minimum score for applicants. Grand Canyon University does require a minimum GRE core of 1000. Students will always need to submit their undergraduate transcripts, and they will typically be required to demonstrate that they maintained a minimum GPA while completing their graduate work. This minimum can range widely, as Walden University maintains a 2.5 minimum GPA for admission while Grand Canyon University requires at least a 2.8.
