University of Central Florida

Orlando's University of Central Florida has an online Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM). Students in the online program take courses through video streams on the Florida Engineering Educational Delivery System (FEEDS). The program offers a thesis and non-thesis option, with the latter requiring a capstone course. The program totals 30 credits and even though the program can be completed entirely online, some electives and prerequisite coursework may not be available online.

Florida International University

Florida International University in Miami offers a general track, MSEM program online. The program totals 30 credits and can be completed in 3 semesters. Students in the program take core courses in engineering management that cover topics like quality management, business law and project management, as well as elective courses in engineering and business. Through the program, students become eligible to pursue Project Management Professional and Six Sigma Black Belt certifications.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Worldwide in Daytona Beach provides an MSEM program that can be taken online or in a live, virtual classroom. The program totals 36 credits and offers concentrations in various areas, including systems engineering, leadership, aviation/aerospace management and financial management. Students in the program take core courses in areas such as ethics, economic analysis, organizational theory and marketing. The program also requires courses from the student's chosen area of concentration and electives in areas like research methods, supply chain management or quality assurance.

University of South Florida

Tampa's University of South Florida has an MSEM program that is available through distance learning. The 30-credit program requires a capstone course and allows students to choose electives from specialization areas like safety engineering, entrepreneurship, technical management and regulatory affairs for medical devices. Core courses are divided into a general category, quantitative category and workforce management category. These core courses cover topics in technology, policy, statistics, analytics, human relations and more.

Polytechnic University

Polytechnic University has campuses in Orlando and Miami and offers an online Master of Engineering Management (MEM). The program is 39 credits and offers several areas of emphasis, such as environmental management, manufacturing management and construction management. A specialization in public works management is also offered, but this is only available for online students. The program requires core management courses, specialization courses in engineering management and courses from a student's area of emphasis.

Common Entrance Requirements

Online master's programs in engineering management in Florida usually require applicants to hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture or another science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) field. These programs also typically require students to meet a minimum GPA requirement, which usually ranges from a 2.5 to a 3.0. Some of these programs may have specific GRE scores that need to be met and/or require applicants to have work experience in engineering or management. Many of these programs ask applicants to submit their official transcripts, letters of recommendation, a resume and/or a statement of purpose with their application.
