The state of Georgia offers some unique online Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, including a partnership program that is offered through several institutions. Kennesaw State University
Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw and several other institutions throughout Georgia offer the Georgia WebMBA program. Students must meet on-campus for a 2-day orientation, but then the rest of the program is completely online and can be finished in 20 months. Students take 2 courses each term for 5 consecutive terms. The program courses cover the same topics as the on-campus program in areas like marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting, decision analysis and information systems.
Georgia Southern University
Georgia Southern University in Statesboro has an online MBA program that can be completed in 21 months. Students complete an in-person orientation in Atlanta and then 10 courses online for a total of 30 credits. The program follows team-based learning and holds international accreditation. Online students still have access to a personal academic advisor, campus Career Services and online access to the school's library.
Mercer University in Macon provides a self-paced online MBA program that can be completed in as little as 18 months. The program does allow students the opportunity to meet on-campus for some courses if they would like. Students in the program can pursue a concentration in marketing, healthcare management, economics, human resources, finance or general business. The university also offers dual degree options that pair the MBA with degrees in areas like pharmacy, accounting and physical therapy.
Valdosta State University
Valdosta State University in Valdosta is another institution that offers the 30-credit Georgia WebMBA program, but the school also has a unique online MBA with a concentration in healthcare administration. This MBA-HCAD program requires 36 credits and also does not require a thesis. Students take courses that are specific to the field of healthcare, including topics in healthcare economics, healthcare strategic leadership and healthcare systems and policies. The program also includes a healthcare administration practicum experience for hands-on learning.
Clayton State University
Morrow's Clayton State University has an online MBA program that can be completed in as little as 12 months. The program is self-paced and totals 33 credits. Students can choose from concentrations in international business, accounting, supply chain management, human resource leadership or digital marketing, as of fall 2019. The program also offers 5 different start dates to allow students more flexibility in their schedule.
Common Entrance Requirements
Admission requirements to MBA programs in Georgia varies, but in general, applicants will need to hold at least a bachelor's degree. Many programs require students to meet a specific GPA and/or meet minimum GMAT test scores. These MBA programs may also require students to have a specific amount of professional work experience and/or require students to have prerequisite coursework in subjects such as accounting, financial management and business statistics. Along with their application, students will likely need to submit their official transcripts and a resume. Some programs may also require a statement of purpose and/or include an interview prior to admission.
