Overview of Part-Time MBA Programs in New York State

New York University

New York University offers part-time MBA programs at both the Manhattan and Westchester locations. Students can choose from three scheduling options: evening, weekend, and accelerated. Evening classes are held Monday through Thursday from 6:00-9:00 P.M. Weekend classes are held on Saturdays from 9:00 AM-12:00 PM and again from 1:00-4:00 PM. The accelerated, two-year option includes both evening and Saturday classes. All of the options require 60 credits for graduation.

Candidates will need a bachelor's degree and scores from the GMAT, GRE, or the GMAC Executive Assistant. Application materials include three essays, transcripts, and a resume.

Hofstra University

Students can enroll in Hofstra University's Flex MBA program that offers evening, online, and traditional classes. The program requires 45 credits for graduation or 38 credits for students who have eligible transferrable credits in courses like economics that are no older than five years. The flex program offers 11 concentrations areas, including business analytics and professional accountancy.

Prospective students need to complete an online application that includes their education details, GRE or GMAT test scores, and two professional references.

Rochester Institute of Technology

Rochester Institute of Technology allows students to complete their MBA on a part-time basis. Students can choose from 12 concentrations, including management information systems and project management. They must complete 16 courses for a total of 48 credits.

Applicants will need a bachelor's degree and an understanding of statistics and algebra. They will need to submit a graduate application and materials like official transcripts, a personal statement and resume, and GMAT or GRE scores.

University of Rochester

The University of Rochester has two MBA programs that offer part-time enrollment. The Executive MBA program takes 19 months to complete and has a general management focus. Students can choose from 11 concentrations for the Professional MBA and usually earn their degree in 3.3 years.

Candidates will need a bachelor's degree to gain admission to either program. They must complete an online application and provide items like a resume and recommendation letters. The Executive MBA program requires an interview during the admissions process.

Canisius College

Students enrolled in Canisius College's Flexible MBA Program can take daytime or evening classes, with some courses also offered online, on a part-time basis. Available specialties are global supply chain management, international business, marketing in the new economy, financial services, and health information technology. Students take courses in areas like marketing, leadership, and economics.

The college does not require a fee for its online application. Supporting documents include an essay, a resume, official transcripts, and official GMAT or GRE scores. Recommendation letters and proof of relevant work history are optional.
