Texas Colleges Offering Advanced Degrees in Science

University of North Texas

This school is located in Denton, approximately 36 miles north of Dallas. There is a wide variety of science programs at the graduate level. Students can enroll in Master of Science (MS) programs in biology, chemistry, biomedical engineering, or engineering technology. PhD programs are available in biochemistry and molecular biology, along with PhDs in chemistry or computer science and engineering. University of Houston

This school has roughly 100 master's degrees, 45 doctoral degrees, and 30 research centers. Some of the programs offered by the university include MS programs in chemical engineering, computer science, physics, geology, and geophysics. Doctoral degrees in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, geology, geophysics, and several other science fields are also offered. Texas A&M University - Commerce

The Commerce campus at Texas A&M University is located northeast of Dallas. It features a science building and planetarium and over 40 graduate programs. This school has several science-related master's programs in areas such as biological science, computational science, and agricultural science. Some programs take an interdisciplinary approach, combining various subject areas.

Texas Tech University

Texas Tech offers master's programs in science majors such as animal science, food science, and plant and soil science. This school also offers doctoral degrees in animal science, biology, geosciences, and other disciplines. Baylor University

Baylor University offers master's level programs in biology, biomedical engineering, environmental studies, geosciences, and exercise physiology. This school offers doctoral degrees in several subjects including biomedical studies, chemistry and biochemistry, environmental science, geosciences, and computer science. This school is located in Waco, Texas.

They must take the GRE and send letters of recommendation, a writing sample, and a resume to the graduate admissions office. Along with the application, students must send a payment that covers the application fee. International students need to submit proof of English language proficiency.
