Students pursuing a degree on-campus can choose from eight specialization areas, such as mental health, family systems practice, and child welfare. The university also has an online master's program, which has a specialization in mental health and trauma. Both of the programs require a bachelor's degree with at least a 2.5 GPA. Students will need to complete an online application for $65 and submit the following documents:

  • College transcripts
  • Resume
  • A professional recommendation letter and an academic one
  • Career Goals Statement consisting of five questions

Colorado State University

Those with a bachelor's degree in social work can enroll in the advanced standing program, which lasts for three semesters. Students enrolled in the hybrid program will complete either a three-year, part-time program or the two-year, advanced standing program. Students enrolling in any program except for the advanced standing will need a bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Other requirements include at least 400 hours of volunteer or human service work beyond high school. The advanced standing program requires a bachelor's degree in social work that was completed within the past 7 years. The application process for the programs involves submitting a statement of purpose, summary of experience, three references, and official transcripts.
