Associate of Applied Business in Pastry Arts Technology

Students in this 2-year program can prepare for careers as bakers and pastry artists. The program includes coursework in general and specialty baking, pastries, and dough making. In class, students learn about the theoretical and practical aspects of baking and acquire business and computer skills. Course topics include food safety and sanitation, accounting, and hospitality law; students also become familiar with nutritional baking principles.

In preparation for work in the hospitality field, students learn to create and present various desserts, such as cakes, cookies, breads, and other baked goods. They also participate in co-op work opportunities at various restaurants and hotels in the Cincinnati area to gain professional experience.
