In order for employees to keep pace and even move beyond the competition, they need to be energized, encouraged in their work, and trained and equipped in the latest technology and trends. Employees, like athletes, should have a desire to train competitively in order to blow competitors out of the water. Mentors share their own experiences, knowledge, and skills with other employees, thereby instilling in them not only a sense of importance but also a sense of completeness in that they're fully equipped to handle the job. One of the biggest signs that employee training programs are weak, ineffective, or boring might be the reviews and comments coming in from customers. If your company's customer satisfaction rating is on the decline, then you need to take a closer look at your product and how employees are creating and delivering that product. Customer reviews often reveal dissatisfaction in customer service, product ingenuity, and product quality, all of which are areas you have been striving to improve through employee training. Obviously something is missing, and now's the time to stop and take a closer look at the way employees are trained and equipped to produce top-level workmanship.

Creating memorable and effective employee training programs starts with engaging staff members and making them feel like they're part of the team. In-house training lectures are a thing of the past. Finally, implement those plans in a way that will be fun, exciting, and motivating.

For example, branch out from the norm by implementing different types of training programs. These options can include:

  • Offering group training, mentoring, and out-of-the-office team building
