If you've ever wondered what would happen if your favorite reality stars went to college, wonder no longer. Read this blog post to find out what five popular reality stars should have majored in.
Many of the reality TV stars that audiences today know and love (or maybe love to hate) didn't attend college. We're not here to decide if that's good or bad, just to speculate about what reality stars could have majored in if they did attend university. Because education is invaluable, even to those celebrities who have more than enough money to afford tuition.
Perhaps the most iconic and notorious reality TV star of the past decade is Kim Kardashian and her clan of K-named siblings. Audiences love to argue over whether or not the Kardashians have earned their fame, but one thing that can't be denied is their tremendous success in the business world. But we do think that Kim might benefit from a college education in public relations. While she's been very successful at getting her name out there, she is no stranger to controversy and criticism. Perhaps a PR degree would have helped her avoid some of her most-criticized actions.
After infamous reality TV couple Spencer and Heidi Pratt first found fame on MTV's The Hills, they made sure audiences wouldn't forget them by going on to participate in a series of other reality shows including I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother. The couple doesn't seem to mind being viewed as villains, as long as they stay in the spotlight, but perhaps majoring in psychology would have aided them in the self-reflection necessary to behave in a way that audiences would love, rather than love to hate.
Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi
Nicole Polizzi has come a long way since her 2009 Snooki days on Jersey Shore. She now has a family, children, and much less self tanner. However, the image of Snooki forever burned into the public's consciousness is one that is now associated with a dated style characterized by very voluminous hair. We're no fashion designers, but we do think that majoring in fashion might have given Snooki the necessary background and perspective to choose a slightly more classic look.
Tim Gunn has been the fashion designers' mentor on 16 seasons of popular reality competition show Project Runway, earning a reputation as a wise, fashionable, helpful man with fun catchphrases. (Make it work, anyone?) Tim Gunn actually does have a degree: specifically a BFA in sculpture from the Corcoran College of Art and Design. But can you imagine how fun it would be if our beloved Tim also had a degree in political science? We could totally see him as America's most stylish president.
Among other things, RuPaul is well known for hosting the increasingly popular reality show RuPaul's Drag Race where drag queens compete for the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. He's a drag icon and role model to many. But we can't be the only ones who could easily imagine RuPaul as a professor, right? He already has the well-ironed wardrobe. Here's to hoping that RuPaul gets a PhD in sociology or gender studies and goes on to educate the minds of tomorrow, continuing his legacy of encouraging open-mindedness.
