Boston University Online Degree Program Options

Boston University offers many online programs that can lead to bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees, as well as certificates. The length of these online programs is anywhere from a semester to at least three years, depending on the degree level and curriculum of the program.

Online Degree Program Options Available at Boston University

Students who wish to study at Boston University online can find degree programs available at the bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree levels. Although courses are conducted remotely, some residency requirements may be instituted, depending on the program. Online Bachelor's Degree Program

An online bachelor's degree program is offered via the Undergraduate Degree Completion Program (UDCP) and is intended for those who have completed about half of their undergraduate degree requirements. The UDCP requires students to have completed 52-64 undergraduate credits in order to enroll in Boston University's online bachelor's degree program. The curriculum, completed in 30 months (about two and a half years), is a general liberal arts and humanities curriculum that focuses on proficiency in writing and knowledge of social and natural sciences. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Liberal Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Online Master's Degree Programs

Boston University offers many master's degree programs online. There are professional master's degrees, Master of Arts (MA) degrees and Master of Science (MS) degrees available. All of these programs can be completed within two and a half years. Students can choose from some of the following degree options:

Online Doctoral Degree Programs

These programs take at least three years to complete. Residency and clinical requirements may be required depending on the program. The following are the school's doctoral-level offerings:

Online Options for Non-Degree Seeking Students

Those who want to update their knowledge on a topic for professional or personal reasons without completing an entire degree program have several options at Boston University, including graduate-level certificate and non-credit certificate programs. Credits earned in the graduate certificate programs may be transferable to one of Boston University's online master's degree programs. Graduate certificate programs are available in many topics, including:
