CUNY Bronx Community College's Continuing Education Programs

Bronx Community College (BCC) is a 2-year public school within the City University of New York (CUNY) system. The Office of Workforce and Economic Development at BCC provides continuing education programs in healthcare careers, computer technology, business entrepreneurship, building & home improvement trades, and culinary arts & hospitality. It also offers online continuing education courses for working professionals who are unable to attend on-campus sessions. Personal enrichment classes are also offered.

Designed for students interested in health information management, this program provides instruction on such topics as record-keeping, claims filing the appeals process and medical terminology. Certificate options are available in four primary areas: physicians' office management/billing, medical/surgical coder, medical/surgical billing & coding and electronic health records.

Child Care Program

The school's Child Care Early Childhood Development Professional program prepares students to earn credentials for the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition. Completion of eight required topics within the program will provide students a solid foundation for meeting Child Development Associate (CDA) Competency Standards for Preschool Children. In addition to coursework, field experience is required.

Professional Licensure Classes

Several classes are beneficial to students seeking to become licensed professionals in a given field. The real estate salesperson's course, for example, allows students to fulfill the 75-hour requirement of the salesperson's license while prepping prospects for the real estate salesperson's licensing examination.
