There are an abundant number of 2-year colleges and 4-year universities that offer undergraduate and graduate programs related to the field of business administration in New York. As of 2013, there were 156 institutions offering programs. In addition to business administration programs, there are related programs in the fields of business and business management.

Multiple institutions also offer dual business degree programs that combine bachelor's and master's degree programs. Several graduate programs are designed for working adults and allow students to earn master's degrees in business administration either completely through online coursework or through evening and weekend classes. Below are reviews of the ten largest business administration schools in New York.

Cornell University

The Ithaca campus of this private institution has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program, an accelerated MBA degree program, two executive MBA degree programs and several dual-degree programs available. Some degree programs are offered at sister campuses. Students in either the traditional or accelerated MBA programs can choose concentration options to specialize their degree programs. Concentration areas include leadership and ethics, financial investing, entrepreneurship, private equity and corporate finance. MBA students spend the first semester completing foundational courses, followed by a second semester of immersion training in specific areas. Students will then complete an internship during the summer and finish up the second year by completing concentration coursework or additional electives.

CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College

Students can choose either an associate in business administration or an associate in business management at this community college in New York City. According to the school's website, the business administration program is designed with a more general format, whereas the business management program focuses on career-specific management training. In fact, the business management program offers four concentration areas, including travel and tourism, finance and banking, marketing and general management. Required courses in the business administration program include business law, marketing, accounting and business communications. Core classes in the business management program discuss managerial decision-making, finance, accounting, marketing, computer applications and business methods. Students in the business management program must complete three classes within their concentration area, and they must participate in a two-unit internship program.

Excelsior College

Although the school is located in Albany, many of the degree programs are available online, and students can earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees related to business administration. Undergraduate degree programs include an associate degree program in business administrative management, a bachelor's degree program in business and management or a bachelor's degree program in operations management. There are also dual degree program options available that allow students to earn bachelor's degrees in business combined with MBA degrees, and students can choose such undergraduate concentration areas as general business, accounting, human resources management or management information systems. Graduate students can earn MBAs with or without a field of concentration. Concentration options include information security, healthcare management, social media management or leadership.

Nassau Community College

At the Garden City campus of this college, there is a certificate program and two associate degree programs related to business administration. The certificate program in business administration can be completed in two semesters, and it includes such courses as accounting, microeconomics, business law, corporate finance, marketing and public speaking. Students in the associate degree program in business administration must take many of these same classes plus courses in business computing and management. For individuals who want to go into the retail industry, there is an associate degree program in retail business management, and course topics cover sales, retail merchandising, customer service, visual merchandising and small business marketing. Students in the retail business management program are also required to complete some field training coursework.

New York University

Also located in New York City, this school offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs related to business administration. Undergraduates can enroll in a bachelor's degree program in business and choose from one of the nine concentration options, although the management and organizations concentration is the closest field to business administration. For graduate students, there is either a full-time or part-time MBA program available, and there is also an executive MBA program option. Students in the regular MBA program must complete a summer internship, and there are over 20 specialization options to choose from, such as management, strategy or product management. Individuals in the executive MBA program are allowed to choose up to three areas of specialty, and most students choose specialty fields based on their vocational goals or needs.

St. John's University - New York

At the main campus in Queens, undergraduate students can choose a bachelor's degree program in business with a concentration in management, and graduate students can pursue MBA programs, although some of the graduate programs are also offered at additional campuses in Staten Island and Manhattan, NY, as well as Rome, Italy. There are accelerated dual degree programs available that can be completed in five years, resulting in a bachelor's degree and an MBA degree. The four available dual degree programs provide undergraduate concentrations in accounting, management, finance and marketing. Graduate students pursuing MBAs can choose from any of the ten concentration areas available, including executive management, business analytics and risk management.

Stony Brook University

Students at this school in Stony Brook can enroll in a bachelor's degree program in business management, an MBA program or an executive MBA program. Undergraduate students must choose a concentration area, such as management and operations, and they are also required to select a non-business minor to broaden their academic skills and knowledge base. Core business classes include entrepreneurship, business statistics, business ethics, financial accounting and marketing. Graduate students have the option of completing the MBA program during evening classes, daytime classes or even weekend classes. Graduate students can also select a concentration field to make themselves more marketable after graduation. Concentration options for graduate students include human resources management, accounting, healthcare management, marketing or innovation. The executive MBA program is an accelerated program that allows students to take courses online and on weekends. Most students typically complete the program within 22 months.

Suffolk County Community College

This college offers business administration degree and certificate programs at multiple campuses, including locations in Brentwood, Selden and Riverhead. Students can complete associate degree programs in business administration either online or at campus, and one program is designed specifically for students planning to transfer to four-year universities. Business administration courses include accounting, business law, management practices, marketing and supervision practices. Additional related programs include associate degree programs in retail business management or office management, as well as certificate programs in business management or retail business management.

Syracuse University

At this campus in Syracuse, there are MBA programs available, but related undergraduate degree programs are in the field of management. Graduate students can pursue MBA degree programs, and full-time students typically complete these programs within four semesters. MBA courses include financial markets and institutions, financial statements, managerial skills, supply chain management, decision making and project management. MBA degree programs in management have two concentration options available, including one concentration in supply chain management and one in marketing management. University at Buffalo

Located in Buffalo, this school offers both bachelor's and master's degree programs in business administration. Prerequisite courses for the bachelor's degree program in business administration include accounting, mathematical analysis, microeconomics, computer statistics and macroeconomics.
