Lord Fairfax Community College
Lord Fairfax Community College has three locations, including the Middletown campus, the Fauquier campus and the Luray-Page County Center. The college was established in 1970 and offers several career studies programs, including the nursing assistant program.
Nursing Assistant Certificate
The nursing assistant certificate program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for patients and become a vital part of a healthcare team. The program is composed of a 1-semester lecture and a lab, totaling four credits. After completing the lecture and lab portion, students go on to participate in a clinical experience at a local nursing home, which is required by the Virginia Board of Nursing. Graduates can take the National Nurse Aid Assessment Program (NNAAP).
Germanna Community College
Founded in 1970, Germanna Community College is a 2-year public community college and is part of the Virginia Community College System. The college has campuses in Locust Grove, Fredericksburg, Culpeper and Stafford. In the Fall 2019 semester, more than 7,000 students were enrolled. Germanna Community College offers associate's degrees and certificates, including a certificate for nurse aides.
