Normally offered as non-credit training programs at 2-year vocational schools, technical schools and community colleges, CNA training programs provide individuals with the skills necessary to provide basic patient care under the supervision of licensed medical personnel. These programs usually require that students have had recent physical exams, including medical tests and immunizations, for admission. Once admitted, students participate in classroom lectures and practical skill lessons with hands-on clinical education at a healthcare facility. Upon graduation, individuals may take Connecticut's state certification exam for CNAs.
