These six programs can be found at the associate's level at regional 2-year technical colleges. Students may complete their studies in four semesters if attending school full-time. Transfer options exist for students who want to also pursue bachelor's degrees.


Fox Valley Technical College

Fox Valley Technical College is located in Appleton. Through its Associate of Applied Science in Electronic Engineering Technology program, students learn about computer programming, methods for building electronic circuits and ways to work with networks. Required courses cover circuits, microcontrollers, digital communications, telecommunications systems and digital electronics. Students also get to participate in lab experiences that can enhance the theories they learn in the classroom.

Gateway Technical College

This school is located in Kenosha. Students can learn skills needed for a career in computer engineering technology through the Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology program at Gateway Technical College. The program takes approximately 4 semesters of full-time study to complete. Students can expect to take courses in electronic devices, digital electronics and microprocessors.

Milwaukee Area Technical College

Milwaukee is home to Milwaukee Area Technical College, which offers an Associate in Applied Science in Computer Electronics Technology program that can prepare students for careers as computer systems technicians, computer electronics technicians or network specialists. The program covers topics like computer systems, digital electronics, microprocessors and hardware systems. Students have the opportunity to participate in an electronics cooperative experience as an elective option. Northeast Wisconsin Technical College

Waukesha County Technical College
