New Hampshire students seeking continuing education programs can choose from a variety of studies, many of which are designed to help them develop management skills in their fields. Certificates and 4-year degrees are awarded in areas of business, engineering, website design, criminal justice and communications, among others. Many of these programs are intended for current professionals interested in enhancing their skills.

Continuing education students can have the opportunity to learn through class instruction, hands-on training and seminars. Flexible scheduling allows for day, evening or weekend studies. University of New Hampshire's Continuing Education Programs

The University of New Hampshire (UNH) is a 4-year public school with degree offerings ranging from associate's degrees to doctoral degrees. The main campus is located in Durham. The UNH Learn for Life division offers credit-granting courses for professional development and career training, along with numerous non-credit certificate programs and seminars.

Human Resources Management Certificate

The HR management program is designed for those currently working in the field who are interested in expanding their knowledge. Students select six seminars on industry-related topics, such as employee retention, hiring practices, employment law and performance assessment.

Project Management Certificate

This program centers on the skills and knowledge needed to effectively manage risk, cost and resources in business projects. Students gain hands-on experience in simulated project management situations.

Digital Design Certificate

This program consists of two workshops and four electives on the creation and design of digital material. Students study HTML and CSS, web development and and graphic design as well as applications such as Illustrator, Adobe Creative Cloud and Photoshop.

Plymouth State University

Plymouth State University (PSU) is a 4-year public college offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs in a wide variety of areas. The school offers several bachelor's degree programs online for adult students who wish to continue their education.

Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies

Students in this program take core courses in communication technology and theory; they also choose a concentration in either media studies or professional communication. During the final year, participants may complete an internship or a final project to demonstrate their skills.

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

PSU offers a degree-completion program in business administration for students with some previous college credits. Students take courses such as business computer applications, financial accounting, information technology and organizational behavior.

Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice

This degree program includes coursework in ethics, criminology, law, research methodology, forensics and corrections. Coursework is appropriate for those seeking jobs in the police force or the court system, as well as those wishing to go on to graduate school. Students can participate in local internships to gain hands-on experience.

Concord Community Education

CCE began offering noncredit continuing education courses as early as 1971 and now serves residents and neighbors in over 50 communities. Programs are fee only and cover such varied fields as academics, computers, dance, fitness, home and gardening, work and career, and world languages.

Academics

CCE has Algebra 1, biology and chemistry courses with labs available to students looking to complete courses for their high school diploma. Classes meet two nights a week for three hours over a seven week period.

World Languages

The school also offers various language classes, including Chinese, French and German, on weekday nights and Saturdays for up to ten weeks. The French classes are divided between beginners, intermediates and advanced, while the German courses are divided between level 1 and level 2. Chinese Made Easy for Travelers is a Saturday class meeting for four weeks.

Computers

Up to ten different computer courses are offered, including basic computer skills, Adobe Illustrator, Intro to Windows, Photoshop and more. These courses can be taken during the evenings twice a week. Some take only one week to complete while others may take up to four nights to finish.

New Hampshire adults can find several continuing education schools in New Hampshire that feature a wide variety of course topics to help them meet their goals. Many of these schools offer certificates and degrees while others offer lifelong learning courses at convenient times throughout the week and weekends.
