Program Information

Continuing education courses in nursing are available as short, fully online courses that allow students to view lectures, videos and handouts on new or current developments in the nursing field and remain up to date in their practice. Many students also pursue continuing education for the renewal of their nursing license, as well as to gain more knowledge in their field. These programs are typically self-paced and may conclude in a test of the material to earn the CE credit. A computer and Internet access are all that is required to complete most CE credits, and sometimes these credits may be available for free.

Through online continuing education programs, registered nurses can bolster their skills for on-the-job expertise in a healthcare environment. Topics to study include pain management therapies, end-of-life care and immunotherapy.
