Denver CPR Programs

Students interested in becoming CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) certified near Denver, Colorado, have a number of institutions from which to choose.   • Located less than ten miles from the city center, the University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus is considered the top research university in the state of Colorado, receiving more than $375 million every year for research projects. The school offers a basic life support course.
  • Situated roughly 12 miles from the downtown area, Arapahoe Community College (ACC), established in 1965, is the oldest community college in the Denver Metro area. It offers CPR/automated external defibrillator (AED) as well as CPR/AED/First Aid certification courses.

University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus

A CPR certification course is offered by the Physical Therapy Program Alumni Association and the Office of Alumni Relations.

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers Certification Course

The CPR course available at University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus is open to students, faculty and staff, university alumni and members of the community. The course is taught in a classroom setting over the course of four hours. Instruction covers skills such as adult and pediatric CPR, foreign-body airway obstruction and the proper use of AEDs. Students are given a copy of the BLS provider manual for the course. Completion of the class results in certification by the American Heart Association, which is valid for two years. The cost ranges from $45-$65, depending on affiliation with the university.

Arapahoe Community College

CPR classes are available through ACC's Division of Community Education.

Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid Certification Course

This class provides students with the training necessary to earn OSHA-approved CPR certification. The CPR/AED/First Aid class costs $99. The fee includes classroom instruction, a digital manual and, upon completion of the class, 2-year certification. The course takes 6.5 hours to complete. Curriculum includes CPR for infants, children and adults, rescue breathing and proper use of an AED. Additionally, the CPR/AED/First Aid certification course teaches students how to respond to and treat varying kinds of injuries safely.

Other Schools

The Community College of Denver and the University of Denver offer CPR certification. Both are located in Denver. The University of Colorado - Boulder also offers CPR training and is located in Boulder.
