Milwaukee Area Technical College

The largest college to offer any design courses in Milwaukee, WI, is Milwaukee Area Technical College. The 2-year, public school boasts a student population of nearly 15,000. Besides the two programs detailed below, the school also offers programs in web design, animation and digital imaging.

Associate in Applied Science in Graphic Design

Design students at Milwaukee Area Technical College can enroll in this AAS degree program to learn how graphic design can be used to create visual forms of print and electronic media. Students in the program learn to apply design principles to newspapers, websites, books, magazines, manuals and more. They also learn how to parlay their knowledge of design basics, such as line, balance and color, into positions as production artists, web designers, graphic designers and illustrators.

Associate in Applied Science in Interior Design

Milwaukee Area Technical College also offers an interior design degree program for students who are interested in designing the interior spaces of residential and commercial buildings. Students in the program learn the basics of space planning, architectural drawing, kitchen design and computer-aided drafting techniques. Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Media Design
